What is pre-listing cleaning?
Pre-listing cleaning prepares agreed rooms before property photography, showings or an open house. It may focus on an occupied home with furnishings still in place or a vacant property. It does not guarantee an offer, sale price, inspection result or how a buyer will respond.
Occupied versus vacant property
For an occupied home, identify the rooms and surfaces that can be made accessible, along with work, pets and storage that affect the visit. For a vacant property, discuss appliance and cabinet interiors individually. A moving-clean scope and a pre-listing refresh are not automatically interchangeable.
What should the agent or owner coordinate?
Identify the person authorized to approve scope and price. Share photography and showing dates, remaining repair or staging work and who will arrange entry. Cleaning should be coordinated with other work to avoid immediate re-soiling. Preferred dates require direct confirmation.
Which rooms should receive attention?
List the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living spaces, entrances, stairs and any finished lower level included in the plan. Identify mirrors, accessible glass and detail areas for review. Cleaning differs from decluttering, staging, painting and repairing finishes; arrange those responsibilities separately.
Can cleaning continue while the property is listed?
Discuss a recurring or occasional upkeep plan if the home remains occupied or showings continue. The room list, current condition and desired dates guide the quote. A written scope helps the homeowner, agent and cleaning team work from the same expectations.
